When trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) you learn about two key hypnotists:
It is defined as leading people with suggestive language into a receptive state where they themselves can access and utilise the power of their unconscious mind to direct behaviours and outcomes.
However, the history of hypnosis is far deeper than the NLP definition or Milton and David (find out more here).
David and Milton are known for two distinctly different types of hypnosis, Milton for ‘Ericksonian Hypnosis’ and David for ‘Direct Suggestion’. Both have their place and ultimately help a practitioner create trance with their clients.
So why would some one be interested in hypnosis?

- If you want to ‘instal’ new beliefs, values or goals deep into your unconscious

What is hypnosis really all about?
- Creating a state of trance in a person so the conscious mind is occupied
- Providing a person access to their unconscious where change can implemented
- Enabling people to move past logical barriers to change
How is hypnosis used by a practitioner?
- The practitioner will start with defining what you want to get out of your hypnosis session
- Define your goals you want installed
- Define any values or belief changes you want to make
- Conduct a suggestibility test
- Select the appropriate type of hypnotist technique to get your outcome
- Induce a trance in you and install what you have agreed on
- Close off the trance
